New martial arts academy offers affordable training to children aged 7-16 at Southam Village Hall – Park Life

Gloucestershire Young Carers Charity offered the opportunity for 16 young carers to experience the world of martial arts.


The event took place on Tuesday, October 29 and the young carers were taught a range of martial arts skills, including Kickboxing and karate fundamentals (striking combinations), judo demos, learning breakfalls and self defence techniques as well as some fun team work games.

Whittington Park Youth FC opens doors to new opportunities for kids all across Cheltenham – Park Life

Whittington Park Youth FC was only started nine months ago, but Jono Humphris and Steven Philpott-Petrou thought they needed a change from their previous club.


“After starting to coach at another local club we realised we weren’t getting or giving the best opportunity we could offer for the kids involved and with little impact on the structure and options for development we needed to start again with our own ambitions and ideas,” said Humphris.
